Bob Tuthill was born in Redhill, Surrey in 1946 and by 1957 had already shown an interest in art and photography by winning several national art and photographic competitions. He studied photography at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design in Bromley, Kent where he graduated with a BA (Hons) and is a Freeman of the City of London.
For over thirty five years Bob has worked professionally as a photographer and although well known for his location photography, few people realise that he has produced over 5,000 portfolios of children, mainly due to his work with one of the UK's top child model agencies. Many famous people such as Baroness Thatcher and Nelson Mandella have been on the receiving end of his camera and Bob himself has appeared on Television talking about and demonstrating photography.
Bob is a qualified sub-aqua diving instructor, yachtsman and pilot and is currently an instructor for the Royal Yachting Association.
Bob's is now based at his Design and Photographic Studio in Beckenham, South-East London, although location work often takes Bob the length and breadth of the United Kingdom as well as abroad. Bob uses a Fuji/Nikon digital camera, allowing him to supply prints, photographs saved onto disk or ready for incorporating into digital artwork. As a partner in Allsorts Design Bob has access to the latest Apple Macintosh computers to allow for retouching, colour correction and many digital effects which allow complete creative freedom.
